A closer look at K&K Transfer’s role in helping designers bring projects together.

Behind every beautifully finished space is a complex logistics process that most clients never see — but designers know all too well. From receiving and warehousing to inspection, delivery, and installation, the success of a project often depends on the team handling the details behind the scenes.

We sat down with Benjamin White, owner of K&K Transfer, to talk about the role logistics plays in design, what truly defines white glove service, and why supporting the design community is central to his company’s mission.

For those who may not be familiar with K&K Transfer, how do you describe what you do?

At its core, K&K Transfer is a white glove moving, storage, and logistics partner for the design trade. We specialize in receiving, inspecting, warehousing, delivering, and installing high-value furnishings, stone, lighting, art, and specialty pieces. Designers trust us with the items that complete their vision — often the most expensive and irreplaceable elements of a project.

You’ve said that the warehouse is one of the most important — yet least glamorous — parts of the design process. Why is that?

The warehouse is where everything comes together. It’s where pieces are received, carefully inspected, documented, stored safely, and prepared for final delivery. If something goes wrong at this stage, it can impact timelines, budgets, and client confidence. When it’s done right, designers are free to focus on creativity instead of problem-solving logistics issues.

What makes K&K Transfer particularly well-suited for interior designers and showrooms?

We built our company around the way designers and showrooms actually work. We understand the pressure of managing multiple vendors, deliveries, and deadlines at once. Our online portal provides real-time project visibility with photos and claim management, so designers always know the status of their items. We don’t just move furniture — we support the entire project lifecycle.

K&K Transfer is known for handling extremely heavy and complex items. Can you talk about that expertise?

Absolutely. We specialize in the delivery and handling of stone, granite, bathtubs and tables, as well as other oversized, fragile, or custom pieces. Our team is trained in proper crating, hoisting, rigging, and installation. These are not items you want handled by just anyone — experience and precision make all the difference. Site visits and handmade product templates ensure we are successful every time!

How does your warehousing operation support designers, furniture brands, and showrooms?

We operate over 35,000 square feet of secure warehouse space, which allows us to support hundreds of designers, luxury furniture showrooms and manufacturers. We provide receiving services, short- and long-term storage, inventory management, and coordinated final-mile delivery. For many clients, we act as their off-site warehouse and logistics department.

What should designers look for when choosing a white glove delivery and warehousing partner?

Transparency, communication, and accountability. Designers should understand how items are inspected, documented, and stored, and how issues are handled if something arrives damaged. A true white glove partner treats every piece as if it were their own and understands the standards designers are held to by their clients.

You’re a sponsor of the Designer’s Choice Award™ Campaign Series, which gives designers the opportunity to showcase their expertise and receive complimentary publicity. Why was it important for you to support this program?

Designers are at the heart of everything we do. The Designer’s Choice Award campaign celebrates their expertise, opinions, and creative vision — and that aligns perfectly with our values. Supporting a program that elevates designers and gives them recognition for their work is important to us. When designers succeed, the entire industry benefits, and we’re proud to play a role in that ecosystem.

K&K Transfer has been family-owned since 1988. How does that influence your approach to service?

Being family-owned means relationships come first. Many of our clients have worked with us for years, and that trust is something we never take lightly. We believe in personalized service, consistency, and long-term partnerships — not transactional relationships.

Looking ahead, how do you see logistics evolving within the design industry?

Designers are demanding more efficiency, better communication, and greater visibility — and rightfully so. Technology, smarter systems, and true white glove service will continue to separate average providers from exceptional partners. Our goal is to keep evolving so designers can scale their businesses without logistics becoming a bottleneck.

Any final thoughts for designers and showrooms considering K&K Transfer?

Logistics may be behind the scenes, but it plays a major role in your success. When you work with a team that understands your standards and protects your work, everything runs more smoothly.
