For those who may not be familiar with K2 Construction Group, how do you describe what you do?

K2 Construction Group delivers high-end residential and commercial projects across South Florida, specializing in renovations, new construction, and design-build work. We lead projects from early planning through construction, coordinating design and execution so complex builds stay organized and intentional from start to finish.

Your mission emphasizes contribution beyond construction. What does that look like in real projects?

It means being involved well before construction begins. We work through planning, pre-development, and design coordination to help shape the project early. That upfront involvement is where scope gets defined, expectations are aligned, and problems are avoided rather than managed later.

You describe yourselves as a boutique firm. Why does that matter for luxury projects?

We’ve remained intentionally boutique since 2006. We take on a limited number of projects so we can stay closely involved and responsive throughout the build. High-end projects demand attention, leadership, and consistency. When those are missing, even small issues can turn into expensive ones.

Communication is a major concern in construction. How do you keep clients and design teams informed?

Communication is part of the job. Our clients shouldn’t have to chase updates or wait weeks for answers. We stay accessible, proactive, and involved so clients and design teams aren’t left guessing. Clear communication keeps projects moving and reduces unnecessary stress.

You mention solving problems before they occur. How does that show up day to day?

Through experience and planning. We’re often able to identify challenges early and address them before they impact schedule or budget. We work closely with architects, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers to find solutions that respect the design intent while keeping the project moving forward.

How do you define quality on a high-end job?

For us, quality is about execution. It’s the planning, the craftsmanship, and the consistency of the work across every phase of the project. We hold a high standard on site and behind the scenes because in high-end construction, the details always reveal themselves.

Many relationships in construction end at punch list. Yours doesn’t. Why is that important?

Our role doesn’t end when the project is complete. We build long-term relationships with our clients and often continue supporting them well after move-in. That level of accountability builds trust, and trust is essential in this business.

Tell us about the founders. What shaped the company’s approach?

K2 Construction Group was founded in 2006 by Sivan Kathein and Maor Kainan, who grew up around the building industry. Being hands-on in every aspect of the building process has always been their approach, and they operate no differently 20 years later. That level of involvement shapes how projects are run and how relationships are built.
