Miami Beach’s celebrated Lincoln Road is once again public placing art at the center of its cultural landscape.

The Lincoln Road Business Improvement District (LRBID) has announced its 2026 Request for Proposals (RFP) for a temporary public art installation as part of its Art on Lincoln: Sculpture, Installations and More initiative. The program invites professional artists and artist teams from around the world to submit proposals for an artwork that will be installed along the district’s iconic pedestrian promenade.

Stretching across eight blocks in the heart of Miami Beach, Lincoln Road welcomes more than 10.8 million visitors annually, making it one of South Florida’s most visible platforms for contemporary public art. The selected project will receive a budget of up to $75,000, with the installation showcased prominently within the district and supported through LRBID marketing channels including digital platforms, social media and on-site signage.

“One of the most rewarding parts of our public art program has been connecting directly with artists and introducing them to Lincoln Road as a place where their work can be experienced by a truly diverse, international audience,” said Anabel Llopis, Executive Director of the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District. “Through this RFP, we’re looking forward to welcoming new ideas and perspectives that reflect the creativity and cultural energy that define both the artists and the district itself.”

The announcement builds on the success of the district’s inaugural artist opportunity in 2025, which generated more than 75 submissions from artists across the globe. The winning proposal, La Herencia Viva by Miami-based Colombian artist Oscar Esteban Martinez, debuted during Miami Art Week 2025 and will remain on view through June 2026. The striking sculpture, composed of mirrored acrylic panels forming a fragmented human face, has become a focal point for visitors and locals alike.

“We were blown away by the quality, thoughtfulness and creativity of the submissions we received last year,” said Lyle Stern, president of the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District. “Oscar Esteban Martinez’s ‘La Herencia Viva’ is a testament to the power of public art to tell meaningful stories and connect people across cultures. We are thrilled to expand our public art program and can’t wait to see what new perspectives emerge in 2026.”

Artists submitting proposals are encouraged to consider sculptural works, immersive installations, interactive pieces or mixed-media artworks designed for outdoor display. The selected installation will be exhibited on Lincoln Road from November 2026 through May 2027, offering months of exposure to an international audience of visitors, art lovers and cultural tastemakers.

Submissions are open to local, national and international artists, with collaborative proposals permitted. The deadline to apply is June 8, 2026 at 5 p.m. EST, and full submission guidelines are available at lincolnroad.com/arts-culture/request-for-proposal/.

As Lincoln Road continues to evolve as both a retail destination and cultural hub, initiatives like Art on Lincoln reinforce the district’s commitment to integrating art into the everyday experience of Miami Beach.
