ThankYouX: “Want to Be Reminded” Mural Unveiling – Wednesday, December 6
Arlo Wynwood has partnered with internationally recognized L.A.-based artist and painter ThankYouX, a leader in the NFT space who is bridging the gap between the traditional art and crypto worlds, to create a brand-new mural on the rooftop called “Want to Be Reminded.” ThankYouX’s creation will showcase the energy and movement around the city by incorporating unique color schemes that represent both the hotel and the neighborhood. LUA & Mareas, Gravitational Attraction, by Ingrid Haubrich for ADRIANA HOYOS – Wednesday, December 6
Furniture and art collide during Miami Art Week when luxury international furniture brand and interior design studio ADRIANA HOYOS hosts a live painting event in collaboration with world-renowned artist Ingrid Haubrich. Attendees will be able to witness Haubrich creating a custom, one-of-a-kind statement piece from ADRIANA HOYOS’ latest home furnishings collection, LUA, inspired by the moon. Haubrich will also showcase additional art pieces (using two LUA End Table 100s as canvases), with proceeds from the collaboration benefiting the nonprofit Beaux Arts Miami. The exclusive, invite-only event will take place on Wednesday, December 6, from 5:30-9 p.m. at the new ADRIANA HOYOS Design Atelier in Coral Gables.

The Balfour Hotel Presents Lost at Sea by Gustavo Oviedo – Wednesday, December 6

On December 6 at 7 p.m., The Balfour Hotel will unveil local artist Gustavo Oviedo’s exhibit, “Lost at Sea.” The immersive, thought-provoking exhibition will delve into underwater discovery, coastal documentation and debris analysis. These works exemplify Gustavo Oviedo’s artistic style with large-scale paintings of organic forms straight from the depths of the ocean’s cosmic consciousness. Reflective surfaces and multisensory installations invite attendees on a transformative journey, encouraging introspection and connection to the vast ocean. The event will include passed bites and complimentary beverages; a pop-up display by emerging luxury handbag brand Piper & Skye, recognized as a global leader in responsibly-made oceanic leather accessories; as well as live entertainment, and an opportunity to meet the artist. Reyna Noriega x Nautilus Sonesta Miami Beach – Presented by nAscent Art New York Inc. Opening Event – Wednesday, December 6

Afro-Latina visual artist, painter and author Reyna Noriega, who has dedicated her life’s work to celebrating women of color, has partnered with Nautilus Sonesta Miami Beach and nAscent Art New York to debut her first-ever full-scope multimedia and multidimensional artwork installation. Featuring over 12 never-before-seen pieces, the immersive installation explores Noriega’s vibrant heritage and identity as a female Cuban-American Miami native as it intersects with her culture and journey as an artist. The Nolcha Shows: Ordinals Edition – Thursday, December 7

On Thursday, December 7, Sagamore South Beach and Nolcha Shows present The Nolcha Shows: Ordinals Edition, an art-meets-Bitcoin conference powered by Gamma.io, bringing together leading voices, builders, artists and collectors from the digital art ecosystem on Bitcoin. Sarah Main & Hoax (BE) at The Gabriel South Beach – December 8 & 9 

Experience the vibrant intersection of art and music at The Gabriel South Beach as the versatile artist/DJ Sarah Main combines her vivid, augmented reality-infused art with her infectious beats. On Friday, December 8, from 2-5 p.m., Main will activate The Gabriel South Beach’s Floridita rooftop with a sunset set. On Saturday, December 9, from 1-5 p.m., the hotel’s courtyard pool will be transformed into an Ibiza-style pool party featuring beats by Hoax (BE) and a special performance by the Queen of House, Barbara Tucker. During the performance, Main will be live painting and drawing inspiration from the vibrant beats and the stunning backdrop of South Beach, promising an unforgettable evening of creativity and rhythm.

The Gates Hotel South Beach Presents Dive Miami Art Week – December 8-9 

The Gates Hotel South Beach has partnered with Dive Miami to bring Miami Art Week enthusiasts a blend of art, music and fashion activations. Starting on Friday, December 8, at noon, guests will be welcomed by an exhibition of digital and physical art displayed all over the hotel. At 1 p.m., savor Miami flavors with complimentary Cuban sandwiches and cafecito while immersing in the 3D VR box experience presented by Cat Russell in the lobby. Meanwhile, the third-floor terrace will host the Rug Radio Panel from 1-3 p.m., discussing the intersection of Web3 technology and NFTs at Miami Art Week. From 2-3 p.m., contribute to a live collaborative canvas that will be auctioned or gifted at the end of the event. As the panels conclude at 3:30 p.m., the rhythm picks up with DJ Jadyn Violet, and the spotlight turns to the terrace for a fashion show curated by David McConnell featuring designers Mikey Moon and DLOVE. Following the fashion spectacle, enjoy music and live body painting by Miami-based artist Raydamagic Monk on the terrace from 5:30 p.m. to midnight. Ice Cream Pop Shop
Especially for Art Basel 2023, BORGIA INC. GALLERIES proudly presents the Art Basel Ice Cream Pop Shop, featuring talented California cool contemporary artist Kyle LeBlanc and the one and only Fashion Portraitist Sara Kaplan Art. Harnessing the spirit of iconic artist Keith Haring, the interactive exhibition takes place at Normandy Gourmandy, Miami Beach’s eclectic wine and gourmet shop. Artistry of the World
Miami’s iconic downtown hotel, InterContinental Miami continues its annual Miami Art Week participation with Artistry of the World, a showcase of international artists, painters and sculptors curated by famed artist Noel Santiestaban. Cuban-born Santiestaban moved to the United States in 2000 and has continued to pursue his passion for arts ever since. He is most known for his sculptures and painting and his work is found in private collections around the world, and Santiesteban Print Schmidt Workshop.

Kicking off on Thursday, December 7th with a free and open-to-the-public preview from 6PM to 10PM the exhibit features the work of fifteen global artists. Highlights include work from acclaimed Cuban photographer and painter Diana Rubi and father/son performance art exhibition from Noel Morerz Cruz and Marcelo Mora Mugarra. Glass & Gourmet
On Friday, December 8th Glass & Gourmet, a blend of art and culinary flair from Glass2Grass art gallery will take place at Michelin-starred Boia De at 5205 NE Second Avenue. Stunning glass art from renowned artists Ksukebey, Sibbelley, Kengtaro and others will be on display in an evening that promises to be a fusion of incredible glass art and great food. The event gets underway with a VIP preview and plated dinner from 5PM to 8PM, followed by a general admission party with buffet and open bar from 8PM to midnight. To close out Miami Art Week programming, The Gates Hotel South Beach will host its monthly Local Art Club presented by Group Spin Entertainment on the rooftop plunge deck overlooking iconic Collins Avenue. Guests can expect a creative blend of local artist exhibitions, a live arts show, body painting, arts and crafts vendors, and more. Miami Beach Holiday Festival of Lights – Through 23

This holiday season, locals and visitors alike can experience a series of dazzling spectaculars of music and light as the Miami Beach Holiday Festival of Lights takes to South Beach December 1-23, 2023. Presented by the Miami Beach Classical Music Festival (MMF), a nonprofit dedicated to providing affordable, world-class musical instruction and groundbreaking performance experiences to young artists and the South Florida community, these first-of-their-kind live musical performances will feature cutting-edge projection-mapping technology where intricate lighting designs and captivating visuals overlap, turning some of South Beach’s most iconic building façades into interactive exhibits with vibrant imagery. Every surface during these awe-inspiring productions will become a living canvas as the projections play off the buildings’ various shapes and textures in perfect unison with the rhythm of the music.

Sagamore South Beach – The Digital Canvas: Unleashing AI in Art

For more than two decades, Sagamore South Beach has offered the gold standard in the annual Miami Art Week experience, and this year, the hotel is raising its own bar. Fusing traditional art with immersive Web3, AI and Bitcoin, the Sagamore has partnered with Nolcha Shows, the award-winning Web3 experiential series focused on promoting cutting-edge and innovative artistry, to bring to life this year’s theme: The Digital Canvas: Unleashing AI in Art. Nolcha and Gamma.io, a trailblazer in the Bitcoin NFT space, are curating the artwork throughout the property, including mixed media, physical paintings, digital projections and more. Participating artists include AI digital artist Jenni Pasanen with digital art collective NUMB3R xA, actors Vincent D’Onofrio and Laurence Fuller (presenting a triptych of poetic cinematic fine art through AI), Alex Alpert, Otha “Vakseen” Davis III, Waxbones, Johnathan Schultz, Resaang, Tyler Foust and more. The exhibitions are free and open to the public through Sunday, December 10. 

ARTECHOUSE – “Future Sketches / Code Poems”

ARTECHOUSE, a pioneer in innovative, experiential art and the leading contemporary art space dedicated exclusively to technology-based art, is doing a collaboration and digital art exhibition in Miami Beach titled “Future Sketches / Code Poems” by renowned artist, researcher and educator Zach Lieberman. The exhibition marks the next chapter in Lieberman’s journey, exploring the poetry in computation and pushing the boundaries of creative coding as an expressive medium. Through a series of installations, Lieberman and his MIT Media Lab students encourage visitors to let their boundless imaginations take the lead when it comes to modern technology. “Future Sketches / Code Poems” serves as a love letter to the fields of animation, interaction and computation, celebrating the convergence of art and technology. Lincoln Road – R-Evolution™ by Marco Cochrane 

Lincoln Road presents “R-Evolution™,” a monumental 45-foot-tall, 32,000-pound kinetic sculpture by Marco Cochrane, the artist behind monumental sculptures seen at the Smithsonian Art Museum and the $4.3 billion Resorts World Las Vegas. The towering female sculpture, which first debuted at Burning Man, will make its East Coast debut on Lincoln Road on November 14. “R-Evolution” will glow in the sun and illuminate at night. Symbolizing feminine strength and liberation, “R-Evolution” will be displayed on the 400 Block of Lincoln Road from November 14 through April 2024. Cochrane will host an exclusive pop-up shop from December 5-10 displaying photographs of his most notable works, including Burning Man sculptures and other art, at 420 Lincoln Road. On December 7 from 5-8 p.m., guests will have the opportunity to meet the artist, along with other Burning Man performers, at a special event with a live DJ and cocktails.
