Maserati and Poltrona Frau are celebrating Italian craftsmanship, design, and the art of travel with the new Maserati Weekend Bag, a limited-edition capsule collection created by Poltrona Frau In Motion.
Inspired by Maserati’s century-long legacy of Grand Touring, the collection features just 100 handcrafted travel bags that transform automotive materials into a sophisticated companion for modern journeys. Each piece reflects the shared philosophy of both brands: a commitment to timeless elegance, exceptional materials, and Italian savoir-faire.
Handcrafted in Italy using Cuoio leather originally selected for Maserati vehicle interiors, the Maserati Weekend Bag features a structured silhouette, burnished metal finishes, zip closure, and a canvas shoulder strap with a custom Maserati-branded shoulder pad. The iconic Trident emblem is embossed on the front flap, while a dedicated Centenary logo marks the side panel in celebration of Maserati’s milestone anniversary.
Inside, a blue canvas lining with a beige Trident monogram complements a leather-trimmed pocket and engraved metal plaque displaying each bag’s unique number in the limited series. Protective metal feet and refined finishing details further emphasize the collection’s focus on functionality and craftsmanship.
Beyond aesthetics, the project highlights a commitment to responsible luxury. The leather used in each bag was reclaimed through SUSTAINera, Stellantis’ circular economy division, through a process that gives new life to materials originally intended for Maserati seating. The leather is also sourced from tanneries certified to the Gold standard by the Leather Working Group, recognizing responsible practices in areas such as energy use, water management, and chemical handling.
The Maserati Weekend Bag represents a new expression of Grand Touring culture, where performance, comfort, and elegance extend beyond the automobile. By combining Poltrona Frau In Motion’s artisan expertise with Maserati’s heritage of design and innovation, the collection showcases how craftsmanship and sustainability can coexist in contemporary luxury.
The limited-edition Maserati Weekend Bag will be available exclusively to registered users of the Maserati Tridente App, with deliveries scheduled to begin in October.
