Public Dates: December 4–7, 12:00–8:00 PM daily
Bianca’s Zen Garden Cycle I + II showcases her signature “Art Composing” approach — a concept that unites contemporary art with interior design to create mindful, harmonious living spaces. Focused on the “perceived use” of art within its environment, the series encourages viewers to contemplate balance, serenity, and well-being rather than imposing a fixed interpretation. Spectrum Miami provides an ideal setting for this exhibition thanks to its emphasis on aesthetics, craftsmanship, and design-driven experiences.
The artworks are characterized by monochromatic and reflective compositions with textured surfaces created using comb-spatula techniques. Each piece is framed in hand-forged black steel and designed to complement modern interiors. Through diptychs, triptychs, and mixed-media innovations, Bianca seamlessly merges art with functional space, enriching its surroundings with tranquility and elegance.
“In a world that feels increasingly restless, inner peace and serenity are more important than ever,” says Silke Bianca, SBRT’s featured artist. “My work explores how art and interior design can create a mental sanctuary. Bringing Zen-inspired living art to the global stage of Art Basel Miami is an honor — it’s not just viewing art; it’s immersing yourself in a cultural experience that celebrates harmony and creativity.”
Bianca’s artistic roots trace back to her grandfather, a celebrated painter and former chairman of the Düsseldorf Artist Association. Her formal training includes classical painting, analytical painting, and mixed media, developed at the Waldorf School, the Goetheanum Art Academy, London’s Royal Academy of Arts, the Art Academy Eigenart in Bavaria, and other institutions. Her travels through Southeast Asia and her immersion in Zen Buddhism and Japanese Zen gardens profoundly shape her artistic language.
The Zen Garden Cycle includes numerous works with evocative titles such as “Tranquility of Coloured Explosions” and “Reflexivity of Floating Thoughts.” Each piece is available from $1,000 to $10,000, with bespoke installations and commissions available upon request.
