As the country prepares to mark its 250th birthday, South Florida is answering the Semiquincentennial with the kind of celebration only it can stage. From Islamorada to Fort Lauderdale, the region’s landmark resorts, rooftops, and cultural institutions are dressing up for the occasion with skyline fireworks views, museum-wide tributes to American innovation, and red-white-and-blue revelry that runs from golden hour well into the night. Here is where to toast 250 years of America in style.

The Philip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science

Frost Science honors the nation’s milestone with America250: Celebrating American Innovation, an immersive tribute to 250 American scientists, inventors, and changemakers. Guests can explore a museum-wide poster exhibit, settle in for an original Frost Planetarium short narrated by Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, and take part in hands-on citizen science initiatives, with educational resources designed to inspire the next generation of innovators. It is a celebration of where American ingenuity has been, and where it is going.
