Mama Tried, a downtown Miami favorite, is thrilled to announce they just celebrated their fifth-anniversary last month. The self-proclaimed elevated dive bar has been offering locals and tourists alike a cozy spot for happy hour, a lively late-night scene, and everything in between for the past five years. Tyler Kitzman, managing partner and bar manager at Mama Tried, has been rolling out an exclusive new drink menu to continue the bar’s long-standing commitment to craft cocktails. “Mama Tried has always been a place to come for high volume and high energy vibes, but we wanted to make sure people remember that we’re a neighborhood bar first and foremost. Our new cocktail menu is a reminder of that,” says Kitzman.

When creating the new menu, Tyler had one goal in mind, to be the best cocktail menu in Miami.  The cocktail selection will feature a mix of flavors and fresh ingredients each geared to different palates and diverse taste profiles.  “I wanted to curate a menu where every cocktail is a banger. I have been in this industry long enough where I know exactly what our guests want,” says Tyler.  Drawing inspiration from all elements around him, from music, Miami, even trips to the local markets, each drink is a direct reflection of that. The standout cocktail he is most proud of is the “Side Salad,” a savory yet crisp cucumber martini garnished with a cherry tomato and garlic mozzarella ball.  Sure to be the ladies next “it” cocktail is the “Uno Noche Mas”.   Inspired by Bad Bunny and packing a peachy punch of flavor, this bright purple cocktail is made with butterfly tea infused tequila and garnished with a playful tiny toy bunny.

What really sets our cocktails apart is there’s a real showmanship to each one”, says Tyler.  For example, the new “S’More Old Fashioned” made with graham cracker infused bourbon and garnished with a scorched marshmallow that is torched right in front of the guest and served in a smoked glass.  Mama Tried also takes great pride in their made-to-order espresso martini’s, unlike most, theirs is made without using a cold brew, the espresso actually comes directly from the espresso machine.  Mama Tried is now offering seasonal frozen cocktails with their new frozen drink machine. The cocktails will rotate seasonally and are served in a 12oz. Mama Tried keepsake cup that guests can take home.  Guests also have the option to add any floater for just $5.

With affordable prices and crazy good cocktails, it’s no wonder Mama Tried has grown to become one of downtown Miami’s favorite haunts, especially for happy hour.  Mama Tried offers happy hour daily featuring $4 beers, $6-7 wine, $5 whiskey shots and $7 choice specialty cocktails (14 to be exact).  “We took a big risk five years ago opening a bar in downtown Miami, but it was the best decision we could have made. We are so proud of Mama Tried and passing this five-year milestone and look forward to bringing more great vibes to the Miami nightlife industry,” says co-owner Dan Binkiewicz.

The music program at Mama Tried will still be eclectic, open format style paying tribute to old school classics as well as new school hits.  Mama Tried is known for bringing Miami’s first emo night to the scene and up next, they are introducing an all new Kpop night.
