Hotel AKA Back Bay Brings the South of France to Boston with Gérard Bertrand Rosé Terrasse
This summer, the South of France arrives in Boston as Hotel AKA Back Bay debuts its latest seasonal escape. Beginning in June, the hotel’s signature restaurant and neighborhood gathering spot The Berkeley Bistro + Bar will unveil a Rosé terrasse created in partnership with Gérard Bertrand, iconic ambassador of the South of France. Inspired by the iconic Cote des Roses Rosé, the seasonal pop-up transforms The Berkeley’s patio into a chic summer escape in the heart of the city. Set within the beautifully reimagined Hotel AKA Back Bay, whose sophisticated interiors were designed by acclaimed architect and designer Annabelle Selldorf of Selldorf Architects, the Rosé terrasse offers a fitting backdrop for an experience inspired by the elegance and effortless charm of Mediterranean living.
The Rosé terrasse features lush floral installations, signature Rosé moments, lounge areas and a styled Rosé cart offering curated wine selections and seasonal pours. Produced in the coastal Languedoc region of Southern France, Cote des Roses Rosé is known for its bright minerality, its freshness, fruit notes and iconic rose-shaped bottle base, making it a natural centerpiece for the experience. And Esprit de Cote des Roses, the latest addition to the iconic Cote des Roses collection, brings a vibrant sparkling expression to the range.
Guests can enjoy an elevated al fresco experience complete with refreshing Rosé offerings and a specialty menu featuring Cape Cod Oysters with Rosé gelée and jalapeño mignonette, Nantucket Bay Scallop Crudo with burnt honey and finger limes, Compressed Watermelon Bruschetta with peach salsa, harissa and whipped ricotta, and Lobster & Caviar Cornets finished with chives and lemon. The curated wine selection includes La Grande Bleue, Domaine de l’Aigle Chardonnay, and Domaine de l’Aigle Pinot Noir. Visitors can mingle with friends, relax and celebrate surrounded by summer-inspired ambiance and picturesque moments throughout the patio.

“The Rosé terrasse is an extension of AKA’s Atelier F&B, the brand’s culinary program where we create one-of-a-kind food and beverage experiences in partnership with the world’s most compelling restaurateurs, brands and producers in the industry,” said Larry Korman, CEO of AKA. “Atelier F&B is about bringing people together through memorable experiences that are both elevated and bespoke, and Gérard Bertrand’s Cote des Roses Rosé and Esprit de Cote des Roses Sparkling Rosé are the perfect fit for this at Hotel AKA Back Bay this summer. Together, we’ve created a destination that captures the spirit of a Mediterranean summer and invites guests to savor exceptional wines, food and moments in the heart of Boston.”
“Cote des Roses Rosé as well as Esprit de Cote des Roses Sparkling Rosé were created as a tribute to the Mediterranean art de vivre and the beauty of the South of France,” said the team at Gérard Bertrand. “Through this partnership with Hotel AKA Back Bay, we are delighted to bring a taste of that lifestyle to Boston, inviting guests to share moments of conviviality, authenticity and celebration around wines that reflect the spirit of our Mediterranean terroirs and the joy of coming together.”
Located within Hotel AKA Back Bay, The Berkeley is a stylish neighborhood restaurant and bar offering an inviting dining experience in the heart of Back Bay. The Rosé terrasse at The Berkeley is open Tuesday-Saturday from 5-10pm. A natural gathering spot for Boston locals, Back Bay professionals and travelers alike, whether stopping by for a glass or settling in for an evening; guests are encouraged to make a reservation.
