Pull It Together
Just as you can coordinate a drop-dead gorgeous fashion look, you can pull together a fabulous room. Nikki Levy, founder and principal of Nikki Levy Interiors, confirms that there is indeed a secret to achieving a harmonized aesthetic: “Design is about balance,” she says. “As you’ll notice in this dining room, I have installed shapes that mimic one another. The chandelier and wall mirrors have organic shapes and colors that call to each other from across the room.” Similarly, the charcoal coloration of the wallpaper bridges over to the dining chair straps. Most of all, Levy encourages infusing your decor with your own personal style. “No room is more pulled together than one that represents who you are.” Nikki Levy Interiors, Delray Beach; 561.926.1040; nikkilevyinteriors.com

As Nature Intended
As the boundary between indoors and outdoors continues to dissolve, the desire to enjoy nature from every room in the home is growing—and not just from the bedrooms and main living areas. “My clients’ bathroom wish lists often include mini sanctuaries connected to nature,” says Jacqueline Gonzalez Touzet, who co-founded architectural design firm Touzet Studio with her husband, Carlos, in 2004. “We are adding doors and porches directly to bathrooms, which allows real connectivity to outdoor breezes and landscapes.” When there are no water or garden views, Touzet adds planters to create what she calls a “green screen.” 65 NW 24th St., Unit 108, Miami; 305.789.2870; touzetstudio.com
