CHROMA 2025 Ignites Miami Design District for Art Week

Lucid Design District sets the tone for Miami Art Week with a vibrant opening, live painting, and global rhythm.

As Miami prepares for the annual influx of art lovers and collectors during Art Basel Miami Beach, Lucid Design District is ready to spotlight the creative pulse of the city. On Wednesday, December 3, the gallery unveils CHROMA 2025: Vital Impulses in Contemporary Art, an immersive opening reception that blends live art, global percussion, and contemporary works from 22 international artists. The event runs from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and is free to attend with RSVP.

This year’s edition carries the spirit of connection and community that has defined CHROMA since its debut. Visitors can expect an evening shaped by color, movement, and shared creativity—hallmarks of Lucid’s approach to accessible, high-impact art experiences.

Live Painting by Kevin M. Fletcher

Miami-based artist Kevin M. Fletcher introduces The Lunar Dream, a new portrait series exploring identity, perception, and emotional presence through lunar phases and geometric rhythm. During the opening, he will complete the final work of the series live in Lucid’s atrium. Select guests will also be invited to add a subtle background mark to the painting, creating a quiet moment of collaboration and connection.

“My paintings evolve through participation and perception. When viewers contribute, even with a single brushstroke, the work becomes a living reflection of connection,” Fletcher says.

A Multisensory Performance by Dholi Ram

International percussionist and DJ Dholi Ram brings a global-meets-electronic sound to the reception. His high-energy performance—infused with drum patterns, electronic beats, and improvisational rhythm—will transform Lucid’s gallery into a fully immersive experience aligned with CHROMA’s vibrant theme.

Inside Lucid Design District

Throughout the opening, visitors can tour Lucid’s eight solo-curio rooms, meet several exhibiting artists, and engage with curator Graciela Montich and gallery owner Payal Tak, who also present new works this year. Located in the Miami Design District near Museum Garage, Lucid offers an accessible stop for anyone navigating the full Miami Art Week schedule.

“CHROMA is more than an exhibition—it’s a movement of artists supporting artists,” says Tak. “Our goal has always been to create an inclusive, inspiring space where people connect through the universal language of art.”
