Día de Muertos is one of Mexico’s most vibrant traditions, a time when altars glow, mezcal flows, and families gather to honor loved ones through music, art, and cuisine. This season, travelers can celebrate across Mexico in unforgettable ways:

Mondrian Mexico City Condesa
On October 31, Mondrian Mexico City Condesa comes alive with a Día de los Muertos Party hosted in partnership with Mezcal Unión. The evening features a DJ-curated soundtrack, themed cocktails such as the Corazón Ahumado, and a Pan de Muerto Takeover with Xolo Café and Texcoco Bakery. Guests can also visit a handcrafted ofrenda by artist Ximusa honoring Mexico’s ancestral heritage, plus enjoy professional Catrina face painting and optional photoshoot experiences.

La Casa de la Playa in Riviera Maya
From October 30 to November 2, La Casa de la Playa offers exclusive access to the Festival of Traditions of Life and Death at nearby Xcaret Park. Guests can also experience two extraordinary culinary collaborations: Martha Ortiz x Casa Dragones (November 1) and Hermanos Rivera Río & Adrián Peregrina x Patrón (November 2), inspired by the Monarch butterfly’s migration from Monterrey to the Riviera Maya.

Mexico Grand Hotels in Los Cabos
In Los Cabos, Mexico Grand Hotels honors the holiday with lively activities at Hacienda Encantada, including Catrinaface painting, sugar skull decorating, and a festive Catrinas Night with live music. Sister property Vista Encantada offers a more intimate celebration with full access to the resort’s events and culinary experiences.
