Opening December 3, 2025, at Lucid Design District, CHROMA 2025 – Vital Impulses in Contemporary Art brings into dialogue art and interior design, presenting works by twenty-two international artists whose practices explore materiality, space, and emotional resonance. Timed to coincide with Miami Art Week and Art Basel Miami Beach, the exhibition offers a sophisticated yet approachable complement to the fairs, inviting visitors to experience how design sensibilities and artistic expression converge in today’s creative landscape.

Graciela Montich, CHROMA 2025 curator and participating artist, has shaped the show as a living interface between design and fine art—emphasizing natural textures, spatial balance, and the emotional grounding of well-crafted surfaces.

“Curating CHROMA 2025 through the lens of design highlights how art and interiors share the same emotional language,” Montich says. “Each artist interprets balance, texture, and space differently, yet all invite reflection on how our surroundings shape our inner worlds.”

Where Art and Design Converge

Inside Lucid Design District, CHROMA 2025 becomes less an exhibition than a curated environment: a space where sculpture, painting, and material experimentation mirror ideas central to today’s interior design vocabulary.

Cari Cohen (Miami) works with concrete, plexiglass, and architectural influences to forge compositions that balance structure with rhythm.

Sebastian De La Paz (Ecuador/San Francisco) draws on his architectural background to embed geometry and emotion into his canvases.

Vanessa Gilbert, Revival, 44 inches, Upcycled cardboard, acrylic on wood panel, June 11 2025

Vanessa Gilbert (Canada) reinvents found or upcycled materials into textured forms that evoke sustainable luxury, while Montich herself uses mixed media on linen to explore the harmony of natural fibers and craftsmanship.

Mauro Arbiza (Uruguay) bridges art and architecture through sculptural works that emphasize proportion and permanence—values that echo the enduring craftsmanship found in design today.

Sandra De Souza-Peixoto (Peru/Miami) and Nadine Vogel (Folly Beach, South Carolina) contribute color-driven works that convey balance and wellness, aligning with 2025’s softer, more personal approach to interiors.

Together, their works move beyond aesthetic appeal to reflect the evolving relationship between art and the spaces we inhabit—inviting viewers to consider how creative expression enriches the built environment.

A Miami Space for Creative Crosscurrents

Founded by Payal Tak in 2021, Lucid Design District is a 3,700 sf art gallery in Miami’s luxury Design District—a neighborhood where fashion, architecture, and art converge. Surrounded by designer boutiques, public art installations, and world-class restaurants, the space captures the district’s energy as both a cultural and design destination. Located beside the landmark Museum Garage, Lucid mirrors its surroundings: bold, imaginative, and built for discovery.

“After retiring from a high-intensity career in technology, I wanted to create an accessible space for artists in a prime location,” Tak explains. “CHROMA has become a must-see during Miami Art Week, and its artists continue to inspire visitors long after the fairs end.”

A Reflection on 2025’s Design Sensibility

In 2025, interior design continues to favor texture, craftsmanship, and storytelling—creating spaces that feel grounded, human, and emotionally connected. CHROMA 2025 captures this shift by presenting art that resonates beyond the visual, offering a reminder that thoughtful design—like art—has the power to shape how we feel within a space.
