CITY Furniture (CITY), a family-owned American furniture and mattress retailer, fine upholstery manufacturer, and one of America’s Top 100 furniture retailers, recently partnered with WWE superstar Thaddeus Bullard, also known as Titus O’Neil, for “The Gathering: A Celebration of Superstar Dads” on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16th. This collaboration marked a significant milestone in CITY’s ongoing relationship with Bullard and the Bullard Family Foundation, emphasizing their shared commitment to uplifting the local community.
The free celebration, aimed at honoring fathers and father figures in the Tampa Bay area, took place at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa. Doors opened at 9:01 a.m., and the event ran from 10:01 a.m. to 2:01 p.m. The unusual “01” start and end times symbolized Bullard’s commitment to unity and positive community change.
As part of the celebration and its dedication to giving back to the community, CITY surprised three deserving local dads and their families with extensive home makeovers. With the invaluable support of CITY’s Free Design services, a designer tailored every aspect of these home makeovers to meet the specific needs and desires of each family. From designing cozy nooks to crafting peaceful bedrooms, CITY didn’t just provide furniture; they crafted personalized havens that enhance comfort and functionality, paving a brighter future for these deserving families.
War veteran Ryan Barlow and his wife Nicole had their office, living room, and master bedroom renovated. Shorne and Kahmeel Callahan saw updates to their master bedroom, living room, and their daughter’s and son’s rooms. Marcus Scruggs, who was once homeless, and his three kids received much-needed furniture for their rooms, plus a redesigned living room. This generous donation underscored CITY Furniture’s commitment to bringing affordable luxury to customers and making a significant impact in the lives of those in need.

Last year, CITY Furniture joined forces with Bullard to support public schools by transforming Hillsborough County School District’s Thaddeus M. Bullard Academy at Sligh Middle Magnet School in Tampa. CITY renovated the teachers’ lounge, creating a welcoming and inspiring space for educators. This initiative highlighted CITY Furniture’s dedication to enhancing educational environments and supporting those who make a difference in the community.
