Chalet Alpina | A New Chapter for Aspen’s Lift One Corridor
Aspen has long been the undisputed capital of high-alpine opulence in the American West. Now, a new development is starting to take shape in this rarefied market. Chalet Alpina is not simply another resort, it’s a carefully developed lifestyle destination that blends elite mountain adventure with refined luxury and exceptional design. This landmark masterplan represents the first mixed-use community introduced to Aspen in more than a decade, serving as a dynamic new gateway to the mountain.
Positioned along the historic Lift One corridor, Chalet Alpina is designed as a fully integrated alpine base that honors the site’s heritage while modernizing its future. The project encompasses a luxury hotel with world-class amenities, a private mountain members club, and an exclusive collection of ski-in/ski-out residences. This comprehensive revitalization also includes a state-of-the-art high-speed Lift One and a new public park, both designed to seamlessly link the slopes with downtown Aspen. Two historic skier’s chalets, carefully restored and relocated, will anchor the development, one reimagined as a signature restaurant and the other as a new Aspen Ski History Museum operated by the Aspen Historical Society.
A Masterclass in Narrative Design
The aesthetic soul of Chalet Alpina belongs to renowned interior architect Martin Brudnizki, a 2026 AD 100 honoree celebrated for London’s Annabel’s and Miami’s Soho Beach House. Brudnizki is bringing his signature “whimsically playful” yet sophisticated touch to the Rockies, crafting interiors that feel both immersive and transportive.
“The inspiration behind the design of Chalet Alpina takes cues from Aspen’s history, blending the classic ski destination aesthetic with thoughtful details that bring a sense of luxury, comfort, fun and tradition,” says Brudnizki. “Each space will flow into the next, with a quiet rhythm and a sense of narrative. By layering soft forms, inviting textures and colors drawn from the surrounding landscape, the interiors will feel as though the guests and residents have stepped into a beautifully told story”.
A private members’ club, also designed by Brudnizki, will anchor the social life of the property, offering slope-side dining and a program centered on adventure, wellness, and cultural events.
The architectural vision comes from Brooklyn-based Guerin Glass Architects, known for projects such as the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Waikiki and the Four Seasons Resort in Los Cabos. Here, the architecture balances contemporary scale with materials and proportions that nod to the town’s alpine heritage.
The Ultimate Alpine Basecamp
At the heart of the residential offering are six expansive Mountain Homes, starting in the mid-$30 million range, and 26 resort residences that range from two-to-four-bedrooms and feature co-ownership opportunities. Owners can enjoy highly coveted ski-in/ski-out privileges and access to a full suite of resort amenities, including a spa, rooftop pool, comprehensive fitness center, private ski shop, dining and entertaining, as well as an invitation to join its private members club.
Developed by Los Angeles-based Irongate Group, known for creating lifestyle-driven resort communities in world-class locations including Costa Palmas in Mexico, in partnership with Aspen-based HayMax, the team behind the Michelin Key–awarded MOLLIE Aspen hotel, Chalet Alpina redefines the luxury mountain lifestyle, blending adventure, wellness, design and exclusivity.
