Miami Art Week returns December 1-7, and the city once again transforms as art spills from galleries onto hotel rooftops and beach promenades. This year, Miami’s hotels blur the line between hospitality and art installation. Here’s a curated guide to where to stay so that the Miami Art Week experience starts at check-in.

MIAMI BEACH

The Betsy – South Beach

1440 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach | MICHELIN One Key Award

As the anchor of the arts in Miami Beach, The Betsy blends cultural heritage with design-driven hospitality. In fact, The Betsy is the only non-museum institution that is included in Miami Beach’s Culture Crawl. Throughout the property, the hotel’s permanent galleries, curated by co-owner Lesley Goldwasser, feature local and international artists. Highlights include “The Betsy Orb,” an egg-shaped bridge connecting two historic buildings, and “The Betsy Poetry Rail,” etched with verses from Miami’s literary icons. Live jazz nine times a week and a renowned artist-in-residence program round out its creative spirit.

The Goodtime Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

601 Washington Ave., Miami Beach

Designed by Ken Fulk, The Goodtime Hotel, Miami Beach is pure pastel escapism. Curated by Tappan Collective, art from emerging global artists lines the lobby, corridors and rooms. Its 30,000-square-foot pool deck, The Pool at The Goodtime, channels vintage Miami glamour with scalloped cabanas, coral hues and DJ-fueled weekend parties.

Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club, Autograph Collection

3925 Collins Ave., Miami Beach

A 1940 Roy F. France masterpiece reborn by Bill Rooney Studio, Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club, Autograph Collection pairs European Riviera elegance with Miami Modern flair. Original terrazzo floors, palm-framed pools and oceanfront cabanas set the tone. Visiting guests can stop by for a glass of wine at Bungalow Beach Bar & Grill, the charming beachside bar; settle in for an authentic Italian meal at Donna Mare Italian Chophouse, the hotel’s signature restaurant; or grab a quick snack at Il Merkato, the Italian market, coffee bar and gelateria.

Hotel Continental Miami Beach, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

4000 Collins Ave., Miami Beach

Originally established in 1948, the newly renovated Hotel Continental, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton property, is a lifestyle hotel in Miami Beach’s vibrant Mid-Beach district. The hotel blends retro-chic design inspired by Miami’s midcentury charm with modern traveler conveniences, a MiMo-era pool and a cocktail bar (Divebar). This boutique gem celebrates Miami’s golden age through commissioned works by Danny O’Connor, murals by Pedro Sena, and T.S. Harris’ cinematic oil paintings capture sun-bleached nostalgia.

Balfour Miami Beach

350 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach

Located in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood, Balfour is an iconic 82-room boutique hotel that was recently refreshed by Miami-based Bigtime Design Studios to blend historic charm with modern comforts. Originally designed by architect Anton Skislewicz, the hotel spans two art deco-style buildings connected by a lush tropical courtyard. Balfour also offers two dining concepts: SoFi Coffee, an artisanal community café, and Laurel, an Eastern Mediterranean restaurant led by Michelin-trained Executive Chef Camila Olarte.

The Gates Hotel South Beach

2360 Collins Ave., Miami Beach

The Gates Hotel South Beach is a stylish playground ideally located on Collins Avenue, just a short stroll from Ocean Drive, Miami Beach’s vibrant nightlife, and renowned cultural experiences. Its One Love Art DAO Digital Gallery, powered by MetaSill, merges blockchain innovation with fine art, featuring rotating NFT exhibitions by global creators. Guest rooms display serene coastal photography by Miami native Jorge de la Torriente, while the pool deck and beach access extend the immersive experience to sea and sky.

BRICKELL

Novotel Miami Brickell

1500 SW First Ave., Miami

Inspired by Miami’s vibrant culture, Novotel Miami Brickell is a colorful, contemporary hotel with 275 rooms and suites designed for both business and leisure travelers. DOWNTOWN

The Elser Hotel Miami

398 NE Fifth St., Miami

Soaring 49 stories above Biscayne Bay, The Elser Hotel channels the pulse of modern Miami through bold design and vibrant local art. Works by Venezuelan artist Paul Amundarain and Miami favorite Andrew Antonaccio bring the city’s creative energy indoors, while larger murals by Jeffrey Noble animate its expansive outdoor spaces. Each residential-style suite features floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies and fully equipped kitchens. The 132-foot rooftop pool and skyline-facing lounge are the definition of elevated living and a luxe retreat where art and architecture intersect.

WYNWOOD
