A New Way to Play in North Miami

Pickleball has officially moved beyond the traditional court. At SoLé Mia, the 184-acre master-planned community in North Miami, residents can now play directly on the water with the debut of a custom floating pickleball court on Laguna SoLé, the development’s seven-acre swimmable Crystal Lagoon.

Measuring 69 by 33 feet, the SoLé Mia-branded court is the largest floating pickleball installation in North Miami and the first amenity of its kind introduced at a residential property. Custom-built by aquatic entertainment and floating-structure specialist Inflatable Island, the vibrant blue court was designed to complement the lagoon while creating an unmistakable visual centerpiece.

Inside the Floating Pickleball Experience

Available exclusively to residents and their accompanied guests, the floating court accommodates singles and doubles play in one-hour sessions. Paddles, balls and life jackets are provided, allowing residents to step onto the lagoon for a recreational experience unlike anything offered by a typical residential sports amenity.

Open Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, access is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and managed by SoLé Mia’s lifeguard team. The result combines one of the country’s fastest-growing sports with the experience of playing amid the shimmering waters and sandy beaches of South Florida’s only Crystal Lagoon within a residential setting.

“From the beginning, SoLé Mia has been designed to deliver a lifestyle that brings people outdoors and creates meaningful opportunities for recreation, wellness and connection,” said Mario Gaztambide, Senior Managing Director of Residential Properties at LeFrak. “This floating pickleball court is a natural extension of that vision, offering residents and visitors a truly unique amenity that activates the Crystal Lagoon in a new way and reinforces SoLé Mia as one of North Miami’s most dynamic lifestyle destinations.”

A Community Designed Around Movement

The new court expands a growing collection of outdoor and wellness-focused experiences across SoLé Mia. The development recently extended The Loop, its network of walking paths, beyond Laguna SoLé and throughout the property, connecting residents with nearby Oleta River State Park and Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay campus.

Together, these connections provide access to more than 1,000 acres of green space, trails and active lifestyle destinations. Residents can also explore miles of jogging and cycling paths across 37 acres of landscaped open space, a recently expanded half-acre park with Kompan-designed playgrounds and a 17,500-square-foot dog park.

Reserve Padel at SoLé Mia adds another dimension to the community’s recreation offerings, with indoor and outdoor courts, a gym, sauna, steam room, cold plunges and an on-site Pura Vida. The development is also home to UHealth SoLé Mia, the University of Miami Health System’s 363,000-square-foot ambulatory medical facility, further supporting its broader emphasis on health and wellness.

A Growing North Miami Destination

More than 1,000 residents already live across The Shoreline, Villa Solé, Villa Laguna and ONE Park Tower. As SoLé Mia continues to grow, additional residential, dining and retail offerings are underway, along with Mater Academy SoLé Mia, a planned K-5 charter school.

Set between Biscayne Boulevard and Biscayne Bay, the $4 billion community brings residences, recreation, nature, shopping, dining and wellness together around its lagoon and beaches. The floating pickleball court offers the latest expression of that vision, transforming a familiar sport into an experience that could only happen at SoLé Mia.
