New Year’s Eve Happenings 2021

Things might look a little different for New Year’s Eve this year, but there are still plenty of ways to ring in 2021 in South Florida while adhering to all CDC recommended safety guidelines. Here are a few options below. 

MIAMI

L’ATELIER DE JOEL ROBUCHON
The coveted upscale restaurant in the Miami Design District will be offering two seatings for New Year’s Eve. Wine pairings are available during both seatings, priced at $125 and $185, respectively.

LE JARDINIER

KIKI ON THE RIVER
Bid adieu to 2020 along the Miami River with a delectable multi-course menu by Chef Steve Rhee featuring king crab bites, chilled jumbo prawns, Kiki truffle heirloom tomato salad, grilled octopus, surf and turf, and a decadent dessert platter.

JOIA BEACH
Celebrate the New Year at Miami’s newest European-inspired waterfront oasis at Jungle Island while enjoying a specially-curated meal and refreshing creative cocktails. 

• 1st Seating (6-8:30 p.m.): $225 pp; includes 3-course prix-fixe menu dining experience.
• 2nd Seating (9 p.m.-Close): $395 pp; includes 4-course prix-fixe menu dining experience and bottle of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label.

ARIETE
Join chef/owner Michael Beltran for the final Versos Sencillos tasting menu of 2020. The 12-course feast, which includes a glass of bubbly, is priced at $225 pp with an optional wine pairing available for an additional $125 or $190 pp and an optional cocktail pairing available for $95 or $55 (spirit-free). 

• First Seating (7-8 p.m.)
• 2nd Seating (8-9:30 p.m.): Guests who stick around for the later seating can count down to the New Year and watch the ball drop.

PHUC YEA
Wanna burn 2020? Phuc Yea is making it happen with a “Burn Bowl Party,” a night filled with blessings, good fortune and prosperity. The Vietnamese hot spot welcomes guests to indulge in feast with live music by DJ La Negra Fabulosa. Enjoy a 4-course, family-style menu ( $65 pp) prepared by owner and executive chef Cesar Zapata and a cocktail pairing menu ($45 pp) curated by owner and spirits expert Ani Meinhold. LIGHTKEEPERS
The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami’s signature restaurant is ringing in 2021 with an unforgettable dining experience along with a much-needed New Year’s Day Recovery Breakfast. 

• NYE (5:30-9:30 p.m.): $165 per adult, $59 per child (ages 5-12); includes 4-course dinner, Champagne toast and entertainment featuring a live vocalist priced. 
• New Year’s Day Recovery Breakfast/Brunch (7 a.m.-3 p.m.): $55 per adult, $20 per child; includes action stations served by the culinary team and bottomless bellinis, mimosas, Champagne and bloody marys.

To ring in the new year, Bodega Taqueria y Tequila is offering both daytime and early-evening festivities.

Miami Beach’s famed Mediterranean hot spot invites guests to join the Sultan’s Garden Masquerade. Opt into one of Byblos’ dinner seatings (indoor and outdoor dining available) or come for the late-night revelry in the outdoor garden.

CHOTTO MATTE
Enter a world of cosmic dystopia, leaving 2020 behind while entering its bright futuristic “Dystropolis” in the heart of South Beach. The party starts at 4 p.m. and continue late so diners can enjoy futuristic beats, savor signature Nikkei sharing menus and sip cosmic cocktails. Dress code: #ComeAsYouAre with a dash of space-bot cosmic style.

• Nikkei Menu I: $150 pp; features popular dishes including Nikkei sashimi, lobster ceviche, wagyu and foie gras gyoza, slow-cooked BBQ beef, branzino fillet tempura, salmon and pistachio ice cream.

From 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., The Setai’s signature restaurant, Jaya, will be hosting a New Year’s Eve dinner event inspired by the ancient spice trading routes. KATSUYA & THE BAZAAR BY JOSÉ ANDRÉS
Those looking to countdown the New Year on Miami Beach can spend the night at SLS South Beach. For a sit-down dinner, guests can select from Katsuya (min. $90/person at first seating or $150 at the second seating) or The Bazaar by José Andrés (min. $175/person at first seating or $350 at the second seating). The tasting menu at The Bazaar also includes one bottle of Moet Chandon or Dom Perignon depending on the package selected as well as complimentary entrance to Hyde Night Club (flier attached) after midnight and a party favor for those at the second seating.

SLS BRICKELL
Those who prefer to stay on the mainland for New Year’s Eve can explore the events at SLS Brickell. Guests can select from a la carte or prix fix ($95) menus at Fi’lia which will feature a DJ and bottle of champagne with the prix fix menu. After dinner, enjoy cocktails at SAAM Lounge with a live Latin band and a champagne toast at midnight.

SLS SOUTH BEACH
Starting at $25,000, SLS South Beach has crafted the ultimate NYE experience in the hotel’s infamous Tower Penthouse – envisioned by singer Lenny Kravitz with more than 1,000 square feet of interior space and a private rooftop terrace. On the big night, guests can expect in-room premium open bar service; décor and party favors; free flowing champagne all night; a photographer to capture the night’s special moments; and a private dinner for up to 10 guests curated by Katsuya.
