The Miami Design District continues to affirm its position as a leading destination for art, design, and cultural innovation with a new season of programming. Whether you’re a local or tourist, be sure to visit these latest exhibits throughout the district, where contemporary creativity and site-specific installations bring new energy to its public spaces.

Spotlight: Joyce Billet

The Miami Design District announced a site-specific installation of Joyce Billet’s botanical sculptures and furniture in Melin Atrium, on view through May 31.  The integration of living orchids and sculpted plywood introduces an evolving dimension to the work, underscoring themes of growth, adaptation, and interdependence between the natural and built worlds. By intertwining functional seating and sculptural elements, Billet’s work blurs the boundaries between art, design, and environment, encouraging visitors to physically inhabit the work.

Location: Melin Atrium; 3930 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida 33137

Dates: April 24 – May 31

New Constellation

The Miami Design District’s most recent pop-up exhibition: New Constellation, is on view from April 17 – May 17. New Constellation brings together a group of contemporary artists whose work explores connections between materials, ideas, and cultural perspectives. Inspired by the patterns of stars in the night sky, the exhibition creates a “constellation” where each artwork stands on its own but also resonates with the others around it. Featuring painting, sculpture, textiles, and mixed media, the show highlights moments where tradition meets experimentation and personal stories meet broader cultural ideas. The exhibition reflects contemporary art’s capacity to map new “stars”: a dynamic network of forms and ideas that orients us not toward resolution, but toward ongoing discovery, reflection, and exchange. Exhibiting artists include: Marcelo Canevari, Amani Lewis, Nicole Burko, Marcellina Akpojotor, Ornella Pocetti, Hebru Brantley, Stephen J. Arboite, Justyna Kiselewicz, Mariana Garibay Raeke, Reisha Perlmutter, Dionnys Matos, Otis Kwame Kye, Quaicoe and Emily Christine Velez Nelms.

Location: 140 NE 39th Street, Suite 203, Miami, Florida 33137

Dates: April 17 – May 17
