SOCA SUNDAYS: DANCE CLASS
Join the Miami Design District in Jungle Plaza for a free 40-minute Soca Dance Class amidst Zak Ové’s sculptures, celebrating Caribbean rhythms through immersive, full-body movement. Classes are open to all levels and led by Meiling BanZ, a Trinidad-born dance instructor bringing high-energy vibes to every class. Rooted in Caribbean pride, Meiling’s goal is to inspire people of all ages to feel confident in their bodies, stay active, and embrace fitness as a celebration.

IMMERSIVE SOUND BATH
Experience an immersive sound bath offering a moment of reflection and collective grounding amidst Zak Ové’s public art installation. Guided by Tree Om Sound Bath, the session invites participants to slow down, listen deeply, and engage with sound as a meditative and restorative practice. Participants are required to bring a mat. Optional blankets and cushions recommended.

DISTRICT SOUNDS: CARNIVAL EDITION FT. ETIENNE CHARLES & CREOLE SOUL
Join the Miami Design District for a celebration of Trinidadian Carnival-inspired procession, with performers, percussionists and contemporary jazz playing under the Full Moon. Presented in conjunction with Zak Ové’s installation, this multidisciplinary event features traditional Junkanoo performers and towering Moko Jumbies, alongside percussion series by Irawo Osa, and culminates with a live performance by Etienne Chalrles & Creole Soul. Rooted in Caribbean cultural traditions, the celebration brings rhythm, movement, and spectacle into public space, transforming the District into a dynamic, communal experience that echoes the themes of ritual, identity, and collective expression present in Ové’s work.

This exciting program is part of a collaboration between PAMM and the Miami Design District bringing together Caribbean art, culture and community as part of PAMM’s ongoing commitment to furthering art scholarship in the Caribbean through the Green Family Foundation Caribbean Cultural Institute.
