Mario Carbone’s First Step Into Interior Design with Vicky Charles at Villa Miami

Renowned chef Mario Carbone, co-founder of Major Food Group, celebrated for iconic restaurants like CARBONE, Dirty French, ZZ’s Club and more, has ventured into the world of interior design with Villa Miami, the first-ever residential condo branded by the culinary powerhouse. Developed by Terra and One Thousand Group, the tower brings together Carbone’s culinary expertise and the design brilliance of AD100’s Vicky Charles of Charles & Co.

Known for crafting immersive dining experiences, Carbone collaborated with Charles to design kitchens that reflect the sophistication and functionality of a professional culinary space while maintaining the warmth of a home. The result is a seamless blend of beauty and practicality, marking Carbone’s debut in interior design.

Central to the kitchen design is the adaptation of Carbone’s restaurant-grade pasta cooking techniques for a residential setting. Sleek countertops feature recessed wells that replicate the pasta cookers found in his famed establishments, while wall-mounted pot fillers and professional-grade appliances elevate the cooking experience. The pantries are thoughtfully stocked with Carbone-approved essentials, including oils and sauces, ensuring that residents can embrace the chef’s philosophy of culinary excellence at home.

“The design for Villa Miami blends old European charm with a modern sensibility, creating spaces that feel transportive—much like the experience of stepping into one of our Major Food Group restaurants. We wanted the design to be more than just aesthetically beautiful; it had to evoke a feeling of comfort and hospitality that is warm and inviting while being highly functional.”

The meticulously designed kitchens include CornuFé dual-fuel ranges with gas cooktops and electric convection ovens, professional-grade pasta cookers with wall-mounted pot fillers, integrated ovens and refrigeration by Wolf and Sub-Zero, built-in wine refrigeration and custom Italian cabinetry

Drawing inspiration from the waterfront location and the romantic allure of European cities like Venice and the French Riviera, the interiors evoke the elegance of iconic Italian villas while delivering cutting-edge functionality.
