OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival, internationally acclaimed as one of the largest LGBTQ+ cultural festivals in the world, is pleased to present the Florida premiere of “Duino” (USA/Argentina/Italy, 2024), its Men’s Spotlight Film. This romantic drama will screen on Saturday, October 19, at 7:15 p.m., at Paradigm Cinemas: Gateway Fort Lauderdale (1820 E Sunrise Blvd.). An afterparty will follow the screening. Matias, an Argentine filmmaker in his 40s, is struggling to finish a movie inspired by his elusive first love, Alexander, a Swedish friend from their international school. Their close, tender friendship ends abruptly when Alexander is expelled, leaving Matias with unresolved emotions and an incomplete story. Twenty-five years later, Matias decides to reconnect with Alexander, reopening old wounds. As his real life starts to mirror his film, Matias is compelled to confront and question his own memories and feelings, challenging his perceptions of love and friendship. “Duino” is a new, fresh, and exciting take on the queer coming of age story.
