Tri-Rail’s “Winter Wonderland” presented by Herzog returns to the Miami Airport Station on Saturday, December 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free, family-friendly event will include interactive games, food trucks, face painting, cookie decorating, bounce houses, a balloon station, a coloring station, holiday characters, and photo opportunities with Tri-Rail’s mascot Conductor George Green. A special appearance by Santa Claus will make the day extra memorable. Attendees will enjoy live holiday music performed by the South Florida Chamber Ensemble and onstage entertainment featuring Santa Claus and the Mouse-tacular Holiday Celebration show. Families can also engage in activities hosted by HistoryMiami Museum, Museum of Discovery and Science, Florida Panthers, Gold Coast Railroad Museum, City of Miami Black Police Precinct and Courthouse Museum, City of Miami and the Florida Department of Transportation. Food from I Love Panzerotti, Emmy Beth’s Ice Cream and more will be available for purchase. The first 100 eventgoers to visit the Tri-Rail booth will receive a free gift. The holiday fun kicks off at 5 p.m. with a visit from Santa, spreading cheer until 8 p.m., and live performances by the Yuletide Carolers to set the perfect holiday mood before the film begins. Ann Storck Center to Host Deck the Volleyballs Tournament

Jingle all the way to the beach! Ann Storck Center – a Fort Lauderdale-based private nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching lives of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities – is excited to host its Deck The Volleyballs tournament on Saturday, Dec. 21, on Pompano Beach. All proceeds will go towards purchasing holiday gifts for the children and residents of Ann Storck Center. Participants may also bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate. The community event will feature a fun-filled day of volleyball, a raffle, prizes, lunch and more for a good cause. Co-ed 4’s volleyball teams are invited to participate in the beach volleyball tournament in competitive or recreational divisions. Teams must consist of a minimum of four players and can be a maximum of five players. Players under 18 years old must sign a waiver. Sponsorship opportunities are available and range from $100-$5,000. Individual tournament entry is a gift card (recommended $50) or $50 entry fee per person. Registration includes lunch and a t-shirt. Proceeds benefit Ann Storck Center, which accommodates 96 residents and serves more than 300 individuals daily through an array of critical care, learning and ability focused programs.

The Sounds of Christmas at CityPlace Doral

Experience the holiday magic as CityPlace Doral transforms into a winter wonderland. Through Dec. 31, 2024, the community is invited to enjoy CityPlace Doral’s free “Light Up the Night” winter wonderland seasonal art installation. Upon entering CityPlace Doral, guests will be welcomed with 120 three-foot illuminated white snowflakes floating overhead on the boulevard and two three-foot snowflakes. Multi-colored LED lighting will be displayed on the Center’s Christmas tree and palm trees lining the outdoor shops. Shoppers can also enjoy a colorful waterfall display choreographed to everyday favorites and holiday classics with a 10-minute light show beginning at the top of every hour from 7 to 11 p.m. each night. A seven-foot topiary woven balsam cheer deer will also be displayed for Instagrammable moments. As part of its new CityPlace LIVE! series, guests will enjoy a special The Sounds of Christmas performance at the Fountain Plaza on Saturday, Dec. 21, with instrumental smooth jazz holiday music and Christmas classics by Saxophone Player Francisco Quintero along with special guest singers.
