Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade once again hosted its highly anticipated 58th Annual Golf Classic in Memory of Charles “Bebe” Rebozo all ‘fore’ a good cause. The fundraising tournament took place at Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Coral Gables on Monday, March 10.
The event raised $250,000 that will support Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s services and programs at its six Clubs and sites combined which provide educational after-school programs, tutoring and homework assistance, STEM, social skills, dance, arts and crafts, mentoring and summer and athletic programs for area youth who need them the most. These programs help children realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
116 players putted for a purpose, for fun or at a competitive level while raising crucial funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade. The shotgun, scramble-style tournament commenced at noon. Florida’s own Biscayne Bay Brewing, the official beer sponsor of the tournament, was served all day throughout the course and during the banquet. Kombi Keg Miami poured Biscayne Bay Brewing’s Miami Pale Ale and Tropical Bay IPA draft beers. Players enjoyed water and soft drink refreshments provided by Coca-Cola Beverages South Florida and on-the-go snacks and lunch on the green provided by Hooters. Golfers had an array of Hooters’ restaurant favorites, including its famous wings and boneless chicken wings, chicken sandwiches, turkey wraps, hot dogs, Caesar salad, burgers and fries. Cocktails, generously provided by Campari Group – the official spirits sponsor, were mixed and served all day throughout the course and during the banquet and awards ceremony.
Guests started their day with cafecitos provided by Café La Llave and had a chance to win bottles of premium spirits, provided by Pantry Liquors at the Bottle Bonanza Putting contest. Golfers also benefitted from a pre-game stretch and muscle workout led by Stretch Zone of Palmetto Bay, with locations in Cutler Bay and Aventura.
As golfers made their way through the course, they had the opportunity to participate in various activities and additional fundraising contests at different holes. Famous Long Drive Champion, Bobby Bradley, offered players a chance at a hole-in-two for prizes. On hole 10, players could try their luck at winning prizes and strokes off their score card at the Hooters Dice Roll contest. Golfers could attempt to make a hole-in-one for a one-year lease of a Moke America electronic golf cart on hole 16.
The day concluded with an awards ceremony, with awards provided by Casa Faroy, and a buffet dinner, featuring a live raffle inside Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club’s banquet room. Raffle prizes included a golden ticket item for the WM Phoenix Open 2026, and vacation stays at Colorado ski resorts and the Maya Riviera Tulum. Other raffle items included golf aficionado items, restaurant gift certificates, tickets to sporting events, wine and spirits gift baskets and more. All golfers received a complimentary swag bag filled with goodies with a retail value of over $230. The Igloo six-can cooler swag bag included a pair of Akila sunglasses, a sleeve of Titleist pro-v golf balls, a golf towel, a ball marker/divot tool, Tito’s and Skyy Vodka mini bottles and a pack of Miami Cigar & Company cigars with branded cutter and lighter.
“We are tremendously grateful for the ongoing support from all those who joined us for the 58th Annual Golf Classic,” said Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade President Alex Rodriguez-Roig. “The fun-filled day on the green wouldn’t be possible without our committee, board members, sponsors and donors who are committed to creating great futures for our youth members.
