Exhibition explores resilience, sustainability, and global voices shaping contemporary art and today’s luxury interiors.

As Miami readies for the international spotlight of Art Basel Miami Beach and Miami Art Week 2025, Lucid Design District reveals the 22 artists selected for its flagship exhibition, CHROMA 2025 – Vital Impulses in Contemporary Art. Running from December 3–17, 2025, the exhibition offers visitors a chance to experience global perspectives in the heart of the Miami Design District. The Opening Reception will be held Wednesday, December 3, from 4:00–7:00 PM at Lucid Design District, 10 NE 41st Street.

Curated by Graciela Montich, CHROMA 2025 explores the instinctual forces that drive artistic creation and how these impulses manifest in resilience, sustainability, and human connection.

“We have sought works that provoke reflection, awaken emotion, and spark dialogue between artist and audience,” Montich explains.

A Global Roster of Artists

This year’s edition features both returning and new participants, underscoring CHROMA’s reputation for spotlighting diverse voices. The 22 selected artists are: Cari Cohen (Miami), Carina Adur (Argentina), Debora Levy (San Diego), Graciela Durand Pauli (Argentina), Graciela Montich, Curator (Argentina), Gustavo Miranda (Miami), Heather Lynn (Bethesda), Kevin Fletcher (Miami), Mauro Arbiza (Uruguay), Miriam Marchese (Argentina), Monica Wallis (Miami), Mulata von Kindy (Australia), Nadine Vogel (Folly Beach), Patricia Calero (Venezuela/Miami), Payal Tak, Owner of Lucid Design District (Miami), Robert Frankel (Chicago), Sandra de Souza (Peru/Miami), Sariah Sami Najam (Washington, D.C.), Sebastian de la Paz (Ecuador/Miami), Shayla Manee (Falls Church), Vanessa Gilbert (Canada), and Dhilan Tak (Miami).

New Voices, Fresh Perspectives

Among the new artists, three stand out for how their practices resonate with both contemporary culture and today’s design trends.

  • Vanessa Gilbert (Canada) works with upcycled cardboard and sustainable materials, creating sculptural works that merge natural forms with human imagination. Her piece Revival exemplifies the eco-conscious design ethos, inviting collectors to bring sustainability into interiors without sacrificing visual impact. “Last year, I was there as an admirer — and this year, I return as an exhibiting artist. What an incredible journey,” she says.
  • Debora Levy (San Diego) unveils her Resilience series of abstract portraits, including What We Women Intuit. These works celebrate strength and emotional depth, echoing the trend of placing expressive, conversation-starting art in homes designed as sanctuaries. “This opportunity allows me to share my latest work with a wider audience and contribute to a vibrant dialogue around creativity, resilience, and artistic expression,” Levy reflects.
  • Sebastian de la Paz (Ecuador/Miami) brings bold pop and street art energy to his Echoes of Expression series. In works like Twist, he transforms hand gestures into graphic statements, offering interiors a focal point that bridges fine art and urban culture.

Together, these works highlight how art can shape environments, serving not just as wall décor but as vital elements in the narrative of contemporary interiors.

Where Art Meets Design

For collectors and design enthusiasts, CHROMA reflects currents that resonate far beyond the gallery. Sustainability, organic forms, tactile finishes, expressive portraiture, and bold pop graphics all align with trends transforming luxury interiors today. These works translate seamlessly into private homes, hospitality spaces, and design-forward projects, blurring the line between art collection and interior design.

A Platform with Vision

Founded by Payal Tak in 2021, Lucid Design District has become a cornerstone of Miami’s cultural landscape. As both gallerist and participating artist, Tak has shaped Lucid into a platform that fosters creativity at every career stage.

“After retiring from a high intensity career in technology five years ago I traded corporate America for an art gallery,” she reflects. “My mission was simple – to make available an easily accessible wall space for artists in a prime location. CHROMA continues to attract thousands of visitors during Art Week and Lucid continues to showcase the artists’ creations well into the following year, making it a very desirable platform for the artists to participate in and for art lovers to discover the undiscovered.”

For Montich, the exhibition is as much about ideas as it is about form. By presenting a roster of artists who bring global perspectives and material innovation, CHROMA 2025 underscores the Miami Design District’s role as a nexus of art, fashion, design, and culture.
