Andalusian Gin and Tapas Bar Tropezón Launches Sunday Brunch
Tropezón is an Andalusian style gin and tapas bar hidden in the corridors of historic Espanola Way. Inspired by the Spanish village saloons where old men play afternoon cards and women converse over Sherry, Tropezón means “a stumble” or to “trip” on something. The traditional gin + tonic is celebrated with an array of house-infused gins alongside pairing aromatics, classic cocktails are served with European flavors and a unique offering of Sherry are perfect answers to interrupting the humid, Miami evenings.
Now, Tropezón is welcoming guests on Sundays from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. for brunch. Diners can expect the eatery’s signature Arabic and Mediterranean coast flavors throughout the menu including dishes like Empanada Murciana served with fennel seed and mojo verde, Marinated White Bean – octopus salpicón, Calabrian chili, cherry tomato, cucumber; Spanish Tortilla served with onion, guindilla pepper and pan con tomate, Baked Eggs served with garbanzos, chorizo, harissa, toast, Egg Sandwich served with piquillo aioli, pork belly, scrambled egg, Idiazabal cheese, Churros dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with gianduja, espresso and vanilla ice cream, and Torreja – French toast, peach, oloroso topped with caramel ice cream. A variety of tapas and salads are also available.
Sentiments of Spain’s rolling hills, sunflower fields and orange groves are visited throughout the décor with stories of the Alhambra, northern Africa and even the Wild West. A refreshing escape from the typical; an intersection of sacred geometry where mistakes are excused, and all slippery souls are welcome.
