A Taste of Brunch with Turkish Eggs at Café Bastille Fort Lauderdale

Enjoy Turkish Eggs by Café Bastille at home or in their dining room! 

Ingredients: 

Turkish Yogurt

  • 1 quart greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup roasted garlic
  • zest of one lemon
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
Tomato Confit Rub
  • 1/2 cup garlic
  • 1/2 cup blended oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp rosemary
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 10 plum tomatoes
Smoked Pepper Oil
  • 1/2 cup blended oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter

Method: 

Turkish Yogurt

  1.  Combine all ingredients and blend with hand mixer or blender until smooth.
Tomato Confit Rub
  1.  Preheat oven to 275.
  2.  Place all ingredients except for the tomatoes in a blender and puree until smooth.
  3.  Halve the plum tomatoes and pat dry with a paper towel. Toss them in the puree mixture until fully coated.
  4.  Place on an oiled sheet tray in the oven for 2 and ½ to 3 hours. Tomatoes should be slightly dried and roasted.
  5.  Remove tomatoes from oven and let cool before serving.

Smoked Pepper Oil

  1. Heat the oil over medium heat, add the paprika, chili flakes, salt and black pepper.
  2. Remove from heat and add the butter and stir until melted.
