Villa Miami, developed in a collaboration between legacy developers Terra, led by David Martin, and One Thousand Group, has been honored with the prestigious International Property Award for Best Residential High-Rise Architecture and Best Mixed-Use Development in the Americas. Designed by ODP Architects, Villa Miami stood out among top architectural developments across the U.S., claiming the top spot in each category.

“This recognition reflects the exceptional collaboration and vision behind Villa Miami,” said David Martin, CEO of Terra. “The building embodies world-class design, seamlessly blending architecture with Edgewater’s vibrant lifestyle. Our partnership with Major Food Group and One Thousand Group has redefined luxury living, creating an unparalleled residential experience.”

This landmark project is the first-ever development to be branded by the renowned hospitality firm Major Food Group, celebrated for its acclaimed concepts like ZZ’s Club and CARBONE. Located in Miami’s vibrant Edgewater neighborhood, Villa Miami’s design draws inspiration from its waterfront setting, offering breathtaking, panoramic views of Biscayne Bay. The façade, known as the “geofacade,” captures the interplay of light and shadow, mimicking the dynamic ripple effect of the bay’s waters.

“Villa Miami’s success at the International Property Awards is an astonishing milestone for our team,” said Kevin Venger, co-founder of One Thousand Group. “This project embodies our dedication to delivering excellence in architectural design, overall quality, unparalleled services and community development.”

A striking design feature is the X-shaped motif at the building’s corners, inspired by the movement of vessel traffic along the bay. This element not only acknowledges the maritime activity but also imbues the structure with a sense of fluidity, integrating it seamlessly into its waterfront environment. As a result, Villa Miami becomes more than a static structure, enhancing the allure of Edgewater and contributing to the city’s evolving urban fabric. With only 72 half and full-floor residences, the building offers a proposition for waterfront living with estate-like homes in the sky.

The interiors at Villa Miami are crafted by Vicky Charles of Charles & Co., known for her work with high-profile clients like Sony Music, Goop and celebrities such as George and Amal Clooney, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis and David and Victoria Beckham. Charles designed interiors that reflect the romance of waterfront cities like Venice and the French Riviera, reimagined with a modern Miami flair.

The International Property Awards are adjudicated by an independent panel of over 80 industry experts. The evaluation criteria encompass design, quality, service, innovation, originality, and sustainability. The judging panel is chaired by distinguished members of the UK Parliament’s House of Lords, including Lord Best, Lord Waverley, Lord Thurso, and the Earl of Lytton.

Celebrating its 31st anniversary, the International Property Awards remain the world’s largest, most prestigious, and widely recognized awards program, with coverage across more than 50 residential and commercial categories in regions such as Arabia, Europe, Africa, Canada, Central & South America, the Caribbean, the U.S., the U.K., and Asia Pacific.

Terra and One Thousand Group are behind some of Miami’s most iconic residential towers, including the recently completed Five Park Miami Beach, Mr. C Residences Coconut Grove, and One Thousand Museum by Zaha Hadid Architects.
