Party for a purpose! The PINK-O Charitable Foundation is excited to host its Fifth Annual PINK-O de MAYO®, “the party for a purpose” on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Due to the event’s popularity and growth, it’s taking place at Cielo Farms in Southwest Ranches this year. Founded in 2024 by Wendi Sugarman Bieber, a stage three breast cancer survivor, the PINK-O Charitable Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing impactful patient support services for women with breast cancer on their journey from diagnosis to survivorship, as well as surveillance and intervention for women at high risk.
Over 350 of South Florida’s top community leaders, impactful philanthropists and influencers will be in attendance to “party for a purpose” and raise funds to support the Foundation’s commitment to providing impactful and direct support for vital programs, patient assistance and services through its established partnership and unparalleled support with the University of Miami’s (UM) Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The proceeds will help significantly expand various aspects of patient support services, survivorship programs and initiatives as well as support and growth of the C.A.R.E. (Cancer Assessment Risk Evaluation) Clinic for those at a higher risk for developing Breast Cancer.
PINK-O de MAYO® guests will experience an extensive array of creatively executed vignettes offering an extensive array of extraordinary cuisines from South Florida’s most renowned chefs. Returning sponsors include Teremana Tequila, founded by Dwayne Johnson, “The Rock” and E11EVEN Vodka, which is female-founded and hand-crafted in Miami, Florida and gluten-free,sugar-free and keto-friendly. Mixologists will serve up specialty curated and personalized cocktails and mocktails. The Mai Kai, Primo Liquors and the Dan Marino Wine Collection will also provide another dimension to the experience, making it the perfect place to eat, drink and “party for a purpose.”
The event will honor Dr. Frank J. Penedo; Director of the Cancer Survivorship Program at UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Penedo is an internationally recognized expert in cancer survivorship and psychosocial oncology.
Attendees will have a special opportunity to support the PINK-O Charitable Foundation through participation in a silent auction and raffle featuring high-end items and exceptional luxury experiences. The 2024 event raised over $90,000 to support breast cancer patients, survivors and those at high risk.
In 2024, the PINK-O Charitable Foundation was granted a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This designation furthers the Foundation’s mission and expands its support in the South Florida community, particularly through its alignment and partnership with the UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. This status also allows donors to make tax-deductible contributions, enhancing the Foundation’s ability to raise funds and support its programs in various areas of support.
The UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is the only designated National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Center in the region. NCI Centersmeet the highest standards for cancer care and treatments and are known for their scientific and clinical excellence and the ability to have the resources and abilities to integrate various approaches through research and trials for cancer. With this innovation, research, trials, state-of-the-art care and cancer experts allow a plethora of new opportunities to serve and support patients.
