Located in the first country to be named after a woman, out of only two in the world, Saint Lucia’s all-villa The Landings Resort and Spa serves as a wellness sanctuary for all womankind with a spa concept that wholly addresses female wellbeing. The program is thoughtfully created for the millions of women experiencing menopause each year, as well as those affected by infertility, menstrual pains, postpartum, polycystic ovarian syndrome, hormonal imbalances, aging and more.

Nestled in a peaceful setting on the island’s secluded shores of Rodney Bay,  the 7,000-square-foot spa is spearheaded by its spa manager Marjorie Knowles-Kerr. Marjorie brings 20 years of expertise, as well as certifications from trigger point therapy to reflexology, from prestigious resorts around the world.

“27 million women between the ages of 45 and 64 are entering this chapter of menopause, leading to hormonal changes resulting in hair loss, lower back pain, cramps, bloating, exhaustion, feeling lethargic, hot flashes, insomnia, and more,” said Marjorie Knowles-Kerr, Spa Manager at The Landings Resort and Spa. “Our spa reconceptualization was driven out of the desire to help women live with these symptoms with more ease and understanding, provide tender care to women seeking guidance and relief as they embark on their journeys through pre-and-post-menopause, and give their bodies extra self-care and love during these changes.”

The spa enhances each bespoke treatment and personalized experience with skincare, essential oils, and herbal teas from brands that share similar values. These include Elemis, a female-founded company, and KaKo Organic skincare created by local businesswomen using ingredients grown in the area. Every product used is chosen to target various women’s ailments, such as teas designed for menstrual cycle support and oils to enhance progesterone levels, ease night sweats and more.

Treatments include the carefully curated Women’s Health Massage which is designed to alleviate menopausal discomfort and incorporates Clary Sage Oil to decrease cortisol levels, Thyme Oil to boost progesterone, and more. Following the massage, guests are served Ginseng Tea, which aids in managing hot flashes and night sweats.

Utilizing warm Geranium Oil as a natural pain reliever and muscle relaxant, therapists focus on targeted pressure points in the feet, hands, face, or ears during the Menstrual Relief Massage. Techniques such as compression and reflexology with heated pads are used to further alleviate pain and muscle tension in congested areas. The Diamond Well-Living Massage is tailored to address the individual menopausal symptoms that guests are encountering. Offering a selection of oils that serve distinct purposes and cater to different moods, preferences, and scents, this massage works to treat insomnia, alleviate menstrual cramps, regulate the thyroid, balance blood sugar levels and more. Guests are given the option to enhance vitality with Citrus Fruit, Cypress, and Rosemary Oils, as well as detox the body with Seaweed and Chia Oils or unwind with Lavender and Grape Seed Oils. Replenishing the natural oils lost during menopause, The Elemis Facial Care treats and prevents dull, flaky skin and utilizes SkinCeutical Ant-Aging Skin Care.

Treatments are followed by a refreshing foot soak and exfoliating body wrap to revitalize the skin and senses. Each female is then served a special blended tea. The curated selection includes Black Cohosh Root and Ginseng Teas, which target hot flashes and vaginal dryness; Chasteberry Tea, known for boosting fertility and alleviating premenstrual and premenopausal symptoms including breast tenderness, muscle cramps and mood swings; Red Clover Tea that balances estrogen levels and blood pressure; and Valerian Tea, specifically designed to address insomnia, anxiety, and tension headaches.

The Reservations are complete with the use of the hot tub or steam room and a carefully selected choice of Kindle books focused on female empowerment to perfectly conclude the spa experience.

The Landings Resort and Spa features eight therapy rooms, two facial rooms, two massage rooms, wet therapy room with twelve jet stand-up shower and three VIP rooms with private terraces featuring a hydrotherapy tub.
