Luxury Wooden Boat Manufacturer Grand Craft Expands Fleet, Unveils New Hybrid Model The Clybourn
Genoa City, Wis. – Grand Craft Boats LLC, one of the world’s foremost luxury wooden boat manufacturers, today announced the launch of a brand-new model for its fleet, named The Clybourn.
The Clybourn is a 32 ft. boat that combines the craftmanship and character of a wooden boat with a mahogany deck, with the convenience and benefits of a fiberglass hull. The new model is now available for order with delivery in time for summer 2024.
“When someone sets their sights on owning a wooden boat, it’s normally for the craftsmanship, the beauty or the history, but we recognize that not every captain has the same level of appreciation for a full mahogany runabout. Which is why we’ve created The Clybourn – a true blend of beauty, craftmanship, ownability and ease of maintenance,” said Patrick Gallagher, co-owner, president and CEO of Grand Craft Boats LLC.
The hybrid wood and fiberglass Clybourn will feature a concealed and motorized canvas bimini, mini fridge, below deck head, humidor, premier sound system, under-seat cooler and insertable second cockpit table, as well as a Volvo Penta twin V8 430HP sterndrive engine and Seakeeper 2 gyro stabilizer.
Grand Craft commissioned preeminent yacht design firm Michael Peters Yacht Design for the design of The Clybourn.
“For me, this is a passion project. I have always had a love of wooden boats, and the artistry they encapsulate is why I became a boat designer. When creating a new model like The Clybourn both the designer and the craftsman get to use their artistry at the highest level, which is why I wanted to take on this project,” said Peters. “The Clybourn is not your average boat and in the design, it was important to me that we stayed faithful to the DNA of a traditional wooden runabout as we melded the modern fiberglass elements.”
The Clybourn is the first new model created since Gallagher purchased the company in 2021.
Recently, Grand Craft Boats also announced its expansion into the Middle East with GCC-based SF Yachts, representing the manufacturer throughout the Middle East, the Seychelles and the Maldives.
