Pasta, a new Peruvian restaurant specializing in fresh house-made pasta with a contemporary twist, is expanding to the U.S. market and is set to become the go-to destination for Miami foodies! Making its grand debut in Wynwood in March 2024, the highly-anticipated open-kitchen restaurant will incorporate signature pasta dishes in a newly curated Miami menu.
Pasta has garnered fame as the ultimate destination for pasta enthusiasts and will offer an array of extraordinary culinary experiences, as well as a unique blend of Italian cuisine and Peruvian elements and techniques. Pasta is known for some of their signature dishes, such as their house-made stracciatella, pappardelle with 15-hour braised beef cheek ragu, tagliolini with anchovies, pici cacio e pepe, mushroom agnolotti, among others. Complementing these flavorful dishes, Italian cocktails and a meticulously curated selection of wines will be offered, as well as an assortment of house-made desserts including their Pistachio Tart, “Tarta de queso,” Coffee “Crema Volteada,” and gelatos.
Co-founded by the talented husband-wife duo Juan Manuel Umbert and Janice Buraschi in 2019, Pasta embodies a love story interwoven with culinary passion. After completing their culinary studies in London in 2016, Juan Manuel and Janice embarked on a journey to explore Italy’s heartland and absorb the essence of its cuisine. In 2017, they both worked at prestigious restaurants in New York City – right when the open kitchen concept was born. Inspired by this new concept, simple, fresh ingredients and a deep love for the culinary arts, Juan Manuel and Janice’s dream of creating a pasta dining experience came to life first in a 25-seat eatery in Lima. Now, they are thrilled to bring this authentic pasta journey to Miami’s vibrant food scene!
With seating for over 70 guests in the main dining area and a future terrace opening, Pasta promises an inviting ambiance where diners can relish in a unique combination of flavors, all handcrafted by passionate chefs. The restaurant plans to open initially for dinner, focusing on a local-friendly price point and eventually expanding its offerings with aperitivo and brunch experiences.
Pasta is set to add a fresh and innovative dimension to Wynwood’s culinary landscape, inviting locals and tourists alike to embark on a delightful gastronomic adventure.
