As the Wonder Woman Initiative continues to amplify the voices of women, we further entrench the need for individual and collective mental reformation and positive transformation in ways that sustain the next generation. For Miami Swim Week 2023, we transcend the borders of the swimwear and resort wear industry to push the need for a social uprising that stands to benefit not only fashion, but seeks to elevate today and tomorrow’s women. The shows will take place on July 8th on the rooftop of the Kimpton Angler's Hotel, beginning with a 2-hour AfroFusion Buffet experience presented by the I Am Eido brand.
Guests will enjoy live runway shows, live performances, speaker segments, a panel discussion on sustainability and period poverty, and an award-presentation ceremony.
The featured designers include Tayo Ishola of I Am Eido, Ashley-Victoria Smith of Voglia Swimwear, Jnaba Diallo of Dieo Collection Resort Wear, Ashlee Monroe of MoLuxe, and Dana Angelino of Coconut Bikini.

Intro to Knife Skills | Saturday, Sept. 23, 10:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
Feeding South Florida invites the community to learn the fundamentals between a butter knife and a boning knife. In Feeding South Florida’s Community Kitchen, participants will improve their knife skills and learn how to be more efficient by practicing basic cuts using vegetables. Then the vegetables will be used to make a stir fry for lunch.

Achievement Centers for Children & Families (ACCF) will hold its 12th Annual Witches of Delray Beach Bike Ride on Saturday, October 28th from 7:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. It will start at Delray Beach City Hall and ends at the Green Market in Old School Square. Other events during the month-long celebration will include the Witchy Walk at the Sandoway Discovery Center, Witch Trivia at Tim Finnegan’s, and the main fundraising event, the Witches Brew at Tim Finnegan’s on Friday, October 20th from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m.
More than 300 witches will wear their best witch-wear and extravagantly decorated brooms (bikes) to ride through scenic Downtown Delray Beach, along the ocean on A1A, with a water stop at the Sandoway Parking Lot, all guided by the Delray Beach Police Department. At the conclusion of the Ride, the party will continue at the Old School Square Outdoor Pavilion Stage with music, and awards presentation for “Best Costume,” “Best Witch Cackle,” “Best Decorated Broom (Bike),” and “Best Group Theme.”
In addition, long-time event partner Tim Finnegan’s Irish Pub in Delray Beach will host the signature fundraiser in support of the Witches Ride, the Annual “Witches Brew” on Friday, October 20th.
Funds raised from the Witches’ events directly benefit Delray Beach’s Achievement Centers for Children & Families, a community-based organization dedicated to serving under-resourced children and families in Delray Beach and surrounding communities.

Who: Meals on Wheels South Florida staff and volunteers visit clients on Thanksgiving morning and present them with a hot turkey meal with all the trimmings, homemade placemats, and a friendly holiday hello. Clients will also receive personal care and snack kits courtesy of SSP America.
What: These meals are delivered to Meals on Wheels South Florida’s senior clients who are homebound and alone without family to visit them for Thanksgiving. The meal box includes roasted turkey, stuffing, seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, rolls, and pumpkin pie.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, American Heritage Schools’ Pre-Law Society is pleased to host Innocence Project of Florida’s annual comedy event series, “Stand Up for Innocence,” at the school’s Broward Campus. The evening will entail levity and laughs to raise money for The Innocence Project of Florida – a nonprofit organization that aims to help innocent prisoners in Florida obtain their freedom and rebuild their lives.
The event will be hosted by Karen Bergreen, a standup comedian, published novelist and former lawyer who frequently appears on Comedy Central and performs on TV and around New York City comedy clubs. The opening act is Andy Pitz who has been performing standup comedy for more than 20 years, with numerous TV appearances including on “The Late Show with David Letterman'' and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.” Guests will then enjoy the headliner, Owen Smith, an accomplished comedian, writer and actor who has been featured on “Conan and Colbert,” and has written for ABC’s “Black•ish,” The ESPY’s, “Are We There Yet” (TBS) and “Everybody Hates Chris.”
All proceeds from the show will provide critical funding to help The Innocence Project of Florida find and free innocent people from prison in Florida. The organization’s litigation efforts and support services for freed people are provided at no cost to the wrongfully convicted.

American Heritage Schools offers an excellent Pre-Law program, which is a four-year honors program taught exclusively by practicing attorneys and judges. Each year students take unique law school-level courses that no other high school offers, such as Trial Advocacy, Constitutional Law, Homicide Law and Criminal Law. The program culminates in a senior year internship when students experience the practice of law in real life. Seniors leave campus a few times per week to rotate through different law firms, agencies, offices and courtrooms throughout South Florida. The connections that the seniors make with practicing judges and attorneys are invaluable and often result in future law school clerkships and internships.

FLITE Center West Palm Beach will launch its inaugural FLITE Center Gunther Motor Company Collective Impact Awards presented by South Florida Business and Wealth (SFBW) honoring Palm Beach County youth advocates at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, at The Studio at The Ben Autograph Collection Hotel (251 N. Narcissus in West Palm Beach). Special guest host CBS 12 Anchor Liz Quirantes will emcee the event that will recognize individuals and companies for their advocacy and support of FLITE Center’s mission to aid vulnerable youth in South Florida’s Transitional Independent Living (TIL) System of Care.
Honorees include The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation who will receive the newly created Dr. Heidi Schaeffer Trailblazer Award, named for FLITE Center’s newest board member and longtime advocate; Suzanne Cabrera, CEO, Housing Leadership Council, and Junior League of the Palm Beaches, who will receive Ripple Effect Awards; Excel Construction of Florida who will receive the Bridge Builder Award; and Payne Chapel A.M.E.C and Palm Beach County Human Trafficking Task Force who will receive Community Collaborator Awards. Marian M.E. Bluntson Wingate will be honored with an In Memoriam dedication.
FLITE Center has been serving the West Palm Beach community since 2021. In 2022, it expanded its services by adding a 1,500-square-foot drop-in center located in the historic northwest sector of downtown - in an area youth can easily reach. This past February, new property space began providing a safe, secure and reliable immediate housing emergency landing space lovingly called Falcon Ridge for human trafficking survivor youth and their families.
FLITE Center offers comprehensive and seamless service delivery for youth and young adults
ages 10 to 25 involved in the child welfare system, including youth with special and behavioral
needs, survivors of human trafficking, youth from the Department of Juvenile Justice, youth
who have no high school diploma, those who are unemployed, homeless, or facing any other
unfortunate circumstance. It ensures that youth develop essential skills and competencies in daily living, decision-making and interpersonal communication; crucial modules to begin building their lives as productive members of the community. To achieve these goals, FLITE Center partners with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, corporations, and private citizens. Last year, FLITE Center served nearly 2,000 young adults in the Transitional Independent Living (TIL) System of Care.

Ann Storck Center, a Fort Lauderdale-based private nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will host its 28th Annual Celebrity Chefs event on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood’s Grand Ballroom in Hollywood, FL.
