Barton & Guestier Hosts Contest to Celebrate Three Centuries of Winemaking Excellence
In celebration of its 300th anniversary, Barton & Guestier (B&G)—the oldest winehouse in Bordeaux, with roots dating back to 1725—has launched a nationwide consumer contest designed to educate, entertain, and connect with the next generation of wine enthusiasts: the B&G Pronunciation Challenge. This dynamic campaign invites U.S. consumers to engage with French wine in a fun, accessible way, with the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip for two to Blanquefort, France, home to Château Magnol, Barton & Guestier’s historic Wine & Food Academy.
“We see this campaign as a bridge between tradition and modernity,” said Philippe Marion, Managing Director of Barton & Guestier. “For 300 years, we’ve worked to make the complexities of French wine more understandable and enjoyable. The B&G Pronunciation Challenge is a lighthearted extension of that mission, inviting consumers to explore, learn, and connect with our iconic brand.”
How to Participate
To take part in the B&G Pronunciation Challenge, consumers must purchase a bottle from the Barton & Guestier AOC collection and scan the QR code featured on in-store promotional materials. The collection showcases wines from some of France’s most prestigious appellations—including Bordeaux, the Loire Valley, Beaujolais, Burgundy, the Rhône Valley, and Provence—each reflecting the unique character of its region and Barton & Guestier’s commitment to winemaking excellence.
To participate, entrants must post a short, original video to their public Instagram profile that creatively showcases their attempt at pronouncing the name of the wine’s appellation. Videos must be shared as a Reel or Story, tag @barton.guestier, include the hashtag #DoYouSpeakBG, and follow the account to be eligible.
The Grand Prize
One lucky grand prize winner will receive an unforgettable wine-focused trip for two to Blanquefort, France, including round-trip airfare and a four-day stay at the Château Magnol Wine & Food Academy—Barton & Guestier’s historic estate and internationally recognized wine education center located just outside Bordeaux. A prize totaling a value of $5,000!
The B&G Pronunciation Challenge is currently open and accepting entries through November 30, 2025, at 11:59 PM PST. Discover participating retailers at bgpl-usa.com/store-locator or enjoy the ease of direct-to-home delivery by shopping the AOC collection online at Shopify.
