From Theater Kid to Wellpreneur: Meet Asha Walker of Cured
Asha Walker’s Cured App
From theater kid to nonprofit founder to holistic health coach to app developer, Asha Walker’s career spans the spectrum of community health and wellness entrepreneurship.
Asha Walker Wellness (AWW), a wellness platform and community featuring educational and inspirational content and practical tools catering to a whole-person approach to wellness. This October, Asha is launching Cured, a holistic wellness app consisting of more than 70 modules (over a year’s worth of content) categorized around food, movement and longevity practices. Built for every level of wellness, from the seasoned holistic practitioner to the newly curious health enthusiast, Cured has categorized, functional content that encourages users to take a deep dive into each wellness practice they “try on.” It’s designed to make wellness accessible to everyone.
Most wellness apps available today suggest practices not tailored to users’ individual needs. Cured takes a more human approach. From hydration and sleep hygiene to mindfulness and movement motivation, each module contains personalized, in-depth resources, including goal-setting, practical tips and activities, journaling, progress tracking and gentle daily reminders, to keep users on track toward their goals. It’s an interactive library designed to spark curiosity and make consistency effortless.
Cured is also the only wellness app that focuses on the “why” – a critical component of creating consistent habits. By navigating the app, users organically uncover the root causes of their personal imbalances, make lifestyle changes and seamlessly integrate holistic wellness into their daily lives.
“I created Cured out of my desire to help others lead healthier, happier lives,” said Walker, a Miami native whose career spans the spectrum of community health and wellness entrepreneurship. “The app is a wellness switchboard, an interactive library that puts users in the driver’s seat of their wellness journeys. Cured users become their own health coaches, their own healers, their own cure.”
In addition to creating Asha Walker Wellness, a platform and community featuring educational and inspirational content, practical tools, recipes and longevity practices, Walker is the founder and CEO of Health in the Hood, a nonprofit organization with a mission to create equal food access for all through urban vegetable gardens and wellness programs.
“It’s my belief that we all have the power to spread the ripple effect of health and create a happier, healthier world,” said Walker. “When we feel better, we live better. When we approach ourselves and the world around us with love, we get it right back.”
