Arlo Wynwood, known for providing immersive art experiences within its public spaces, is kicking off Miami Art Week in partnership with British artist Chris Rivers during the Art Week iteration of Arlo’s Living Room Gallery on Wednesday, December 4, from 6-10 p.m. The exhibition, Cosmos, will showcase the artist’s dedication to exploring the beauty and vastness of the cosmic system, the complexities and contradictions of the human condition, and the infinite possibilities of the universe.

During the event, the public can meet the artist, sip on cosmic-themed cocktails and enjoy a live DJ performance while engaging in the lively Miami Art Week energy at Arlo Wynwood’s third-floor gallery. Curated by Jasmine Arakel, Arlo’s Living Room Gallery allows the public to experience and appreciate collector-grade art in a welcoming and accessible environment. This event is open to the public, so feel free to bring your friends, colleagues and open minds for a night of fine art, drinks and discussion. RSVP for free on Eventbrite.

“I’m thrilled to showcase my new exhibition at Arlo Wynwood during Miami Art Week,” said Rivers, whose work will be on view through February in the hotel’s gallery spaces. “Cosmos is about the things you don’t notice at first and serves as a contrast between innocence and something darker.”

Arlo Wynwood’s third-floor gallery will showcase Rivers’ dedication to exploring the beauty and vastness of the cosmic system, the complexities and contradictions of the human condition, and the infinite possibilities of the universe. Rivers often introduces soft light filters through layers of complementary tones, swelling with dramatic, saturated color before receding into the image. Upon closer inspection, the clouds are populated by minute details—flowers, insects, figures and other characters—scattered across the painted surface, offering a sense of scale to the abstract haze. Distinct rococo elements are also detectable, as curvilinear motifs fade in and out of the vibrant, bustling compositions.
