Ocean Weekends at Museum of Discovery and Science

June 15 - 10:00 am - July 6 - 5:00 pm

$2 – $65

Let’s shell-ebrate and make a splash at the Museum of Discovery and Science during Oceans Weekends in January!

• Exhibits, Shows and Demos: Ocean explorers can challenge their creativity by designing coast-protecting structures using LEGO® bricks and crafting their very own marine creatures with upcycled materials.* Plus, get ready to explore the abyss as you build your very own submarine!

• Animal Encounters: See our resident fish, lobsters and other ocean-dwellers in the Florida EcoScapes exhibit.

• Watch an IMAX on the GIANT Screen: Secrets of the Sea, Legends of the Enchanted Reef, Blue Whales and more!

• Career Connections: Explore careers in marine biology, oceanography and more!

Just for early learners (ages 0-6): Observe different marine life, dig for shells, create recycled masterpieces and experience the never-ending motion of the ocean.
The wave of excitement at MODS continues beginning January 26 with Voyage to the Deep, a new traveling exhibit. “Seas” the day and embark on the legendary Nautilus submarine with Captain Nemo for an interactive journey of underwater exploration!

Discover Jules Verne’s mythical world of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by diving into the Cabinet of Curiosities, where you’ll come face-to-face with the most bizarre and awe-inspiring marine specimens imaginable! Then, channel your inner explorer and tinker with the groundbreaking gadgets and gizmos that made Admiral Peary and Matthew Henson Arctic legends during the early 1900s. Assemble your crew, gather your sea legs and join us for a once-in-a- lifetime, oceanic odyssey that’ll make your wildest nautical dreams come true! The Voyage to the Deep exhibition was created and developed by the Australian National Maritime Museum, an Australian Government entity. Flying Fish manages the exhibit tour.

Experience South Florida’s award-winning attraction featuring 150,000 square feet of dynamic science exhibits, an outdoor science park, a live animal collection, a rotating schedule of science shows, learning labs, café, store and a grand atrium featuring the Great Gravity Clock, a 52-foot-tall kinetic energy sculpture; the largest clock in Florida. The showpiece of the museum since 1993, this unique timepiece is one of only three in the world.

Exhibits included with admission. Get tickets by visiting mods.org/tickets.
